Why counselling and psychotherapy?

People undertake counselling and psychotherapy for many different reasons. You may need help with a specific emotional problem, such as depression, anxiety or stress.

Maybe you feel unable to come to terms with a traumatic or painful personal history, and the effect this still has on your life.

Perhaps you feel stuck in recurring patterns that get in the way of having satisfying relationships, finding meaning in your life, or feeling fulfilled.

You could be experiencing a crisis, such as the end of a relationship or divorce, bereavement or redundancy.

Or maybe you are not exactly sure what is troubling you, but are aware that somehow, some part of your life just doesn't feel right.

These are some of the kinds of difficulties that can be addressed in counselling and psychotherapy.

If you are considering counselling or psychotherapy, but are not sure if it is right for you, we can arrange an initial consultation to discuss your concerns. An initial consultation carries no obligation to continue.
